GSI is a non-profit organization designed to coordinate collaborative, high impact, education focused initiatives designed to transform declining  schools into highly effective teaching institutions. The State of Michigan has strong laws regarding schools and sex education. Parents have the right to Opt-Out their student from any and all sex education, discussion, promotion, and coercion without penalty to the student. GSI, in partnership with the Thomas More Society, has created an Opt-Out Form that can be used in any public school. Please click the button below to learn more!

Chippewa Valley Schools proficiency levels have been steadily dropping for the past 4+ years, while they spend an average of $13,402 per student, per year.  The student learning results are mediocre.  Instead of correcting its low levels of student proficiency, Michigan has been steadily lowering the standard in both math and English, in the hopes that the more students will reach “proficient”.  Troy Public Schools have already eliminated honors / AP classes just so they can raise their “proficient” scores.

For years, we have been told that more money is what is needed to improve student learning, yet more money has not worked for one simple reason: money is not the problem.  To make matters worse, public schools receive funding regardless of performance. Every year, more money is demanded, with no corresponding demands that student learning performance improve.

In public education, we reward mediocrity and discourage excellence.  It’s no wonder our students fail to learn. It’s time to address the major flaws of the system and demand competence and accountability for performance. If we fail to do that, our children’s education will continue to languish as costs continue to escalate.  Neither should be acceptable.  Both our children and our country need us to demand better.
